The 'derogatory' moniker is historically contextual. That is, at the moment your view will be seen sympathetically, historically it may seem a bit patronistic and partiality baiting. History will always rise up the moral merits of a human despit the place in the pecking order of the day. Change alters thier memoriam.

We can both be congratulate Aaron Pierre being cast as Green Lantern John Stewart and talk about + acknowledge colorism in casting dark skinned characters. Both things can be true.
Top Comment: Maybe I'm showing my whiteness but isn't saying he's not black enough to avoid making this point kind of... colorism? The article states that it need to be said but... why? Are execs supposed to be like Peter Griffin holding up a color chart to see if the black person is black enough to play this character who was colored with a darker shade in the comics? "We know you auditioned your ass off and earned the role but just wanted to let you know that technically you aren't dark enough."

You won't believe it. But I was watching Prison Break in the evening and then like after 3 hours I saw one of the characters in a Sidemen thumbnail. What's happening?!!
